Westaff’s Career Division is recruiting for an experience Chief Operating Officer for a well-established company in the heart of Baton Rouge, LA!
This is a Direct Hire opportunity; salary range is $185k-225K depending on experience. Preferred experience in Banking/ Accounting and Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assists in developing organizational and business goals in conjunction with the firm’s Managing Partner and Management Committee.
2. Participates in meetings of the firm’s Management Committee and other committees as
appropriate.
3. Participates in developing strategic plans and administrative policies.
4. Oversees and directs all management functions relating to staff personnel, support services and firm-wide policies and procedures.
5. Directs and assists the Controller as needed on preparation of monthly financial statements,
annual operating and capital budgets, cash receipts and disbursements, trust account activity and various ad hoc financial analysis.
6. Directs the development, implementation and adherence to budgets and systems to achieve
operating and financial objectives.
7. Establishes financial controls and guidelines which optimize cost effectiveness for staff personnel and support services.
8. Evaluates staff organizational structure to determine if it is optimal and in compliance with federal regulations; recommends changes as needed.
9. Directs the human resources function from human resources planning to performance planning and standards, orientation, evaluation, salary administration and staff development. Oversees the administration of firm benefit programs and policies, including the retirement, health and welfare, life, and short- and long-term disability plans.
10. Maintains communication between attorneys and staff. Oversees employee relations and
resolution of employee grievances.
11. Directs the evaluation and enhancement of existing computer and telecommunications systems in conjunction with the Information Technology Director.
12. Directs the maintenance of the physical facilities, furnishings, and equipment of the law firm. Responsible for oversight of Ricoh staff for copy centers, courier and facility management
13. Oversees the formulation of a disaster preparedness policy
14. Assists the firm’s General Counsel and Managing Partner in selecting, preparing applications and supporting schedules, and managing the firm’s insurance programs for professional liability, business/property, crime, workers’ compensation, and management liability (including cyber, D&O and fiduciary. Responsible for the firm’s group health/dental, group life, disability, accidental death, and key-man insurance.
15. Negotiates contractual agreements between the firm and other parties through the oversight of the Management Committee.

- Responsibilities:
- Sets up job(s) to be drilled.
- Keep log of time spent on jobs.
- Operates manual vertical boring mill, lathe drill press and milling machines.
- Creates ring grooves and reams holes.
- Check hole dimensions as required.
- Sharpens drill bits, removes shavings as needed, refills coolant tank as needed.
