Job Opening: Accounting Associate
Description
Westaff is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Accounting Associate to join our team. This role reports directly to the Controller and is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing, assisting in financial statement preparation, and managing various accounting functions.
Job Type & Schedule:
- Full-Time
- Monday–Thursday: 7:30 AM–5:30 PM
- Friday: 7:30 AM–11:30 AM
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive wages and benefits package.
- Compensation: $65,000+ annually (Negotiable, based on experience)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret customer contracts to process and customize accurate invoices.
- Interact with internal personnel and customers to research and resolve billing issues or disputes.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage the general ledger and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Work on special projects and other additional duties as assigned.
- Handle additional responsibilities as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
- Associate Degree in Accounting or a related field (preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in an accounting role, with preference for billing and/or government contracting experience.
- Familiarity with WAWF (Wide Area Workflow) is a significant plus.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, along with analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Sound business judgment, with a clear grasp of company priorities and a sense of urgency.
- High level of enthusiasm, customer focus, and flexibility to adapt to internal and external needs.
